FIELD OF HISTORIES
We were honored to collaborate on the lighting design for Field of Histories, a new permanent public art project in the Glass City Metropark in Toledo, Ohio.
The project began with an in-depth community engagement process, reflecting the many stories of glass in Toledo as recounted by residents who have lived and worked in the city. Through a series of community workshops, individuals from Toledo brought objects significant to local history and cultural identity, sparking discussions about the city's past. Field of Histories features 170 glass orbs, each containing a laser-engraved image of an object identified by a community member during the workshops. These orbs connect to an online catalogue of the objects and personal histories gathered at the workshops
